While in the Cellular Jail, Andamans, Savarkar was allowed to write only one letter a year to his family members. As these letters were censored by the Jail authorities they are written in English. They are all addressed to his younger brother Narayanrao. The first letter is dated 15 Dec 1912, while the last letter is dated 06 Jul 1920. These letters are memorable.
